NCMDAO-2020

Most engineering designs involve multiple disciplines. Interaction between different disciplines often result in optimum system designs considerably different from optimum designs obtained using individual discipline analysis and optimization. Multidisciplinary Design Optimization (MDO) builds on Multidisciplinary Design Analysis (MDA) along with optimization and other numerical / analytical techniques to enable efficient, accurate, reliable and robust system design optimization.

NCMDAO-2020, the 3rd edition of the National Conference on Multidisciplinary Design, Analysis and Optimization (NCMDAO), was planned to take place at the Vikram Sarabhai Space Center (VSSC), Thiruvananthapuram from 19th -21st March 2020. It is now planned to be conducted online in the month of October 2020. The conference is jointly organized by VSSC, Thiruvananthapuram chapters of System Society of India (SSI) & Indian Society of Systems for Science and Engineering (ISSE), Design Division, Aeronautical Society of India (AeSI), Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IITM) and Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IITB). It aims to foster communication among academicians, researchers and industry professionals working in the areas of multidisciplinary design, analysis, and optimization through contributed paper presentations, interactive poster sessions, keynote and invited talks, panel discussions and a master class on contemporary topics.

Call-for-Papers Brochure

Prospective authors are encouraged to submit original work in the form of extended abstracts discussing application of established and emerging techniques to optimization-based design and model-based systems. The submissions can be in various fields including aerospace, automotive, biomedical, chemical, civil, electrical and manufacturing engineering. Industrial applications are highly encouraged. Extended abstracts may be submitted in pdf format conforming to the sample format given below. It should not exceed 2 single sided A4 size pages.
